SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Oracle Corp. shares advanced in the extended session on Wednesday after the tech bellwether turned in mixed quarterly results.
Oracle (ORCL) shares rose 0.9% to $34.16 in heavy volume after the company reported of 59 cents a share on revenue of $8.38 billion.
Analysts expected earnings of 56 cents a share on revenue of $8.48 billion, according to FactSet.
Herman Miller Inc. (MLHR) shares slipped 1% to $26.75 in light trading after the company's forecast for the fiscal second-quarter came in below Wall Street estimates.
Herman Miller said it expects a quarterly loss of between $1.39 and $1.43 a share as it wraps up making legacy pension payments, or earnings of 38 cents to 42 cents a share without the pension costs, on revenue of $460 million to $475 million.
Analysts expect earnings of 45 cents a share on revenue of $489.7 million.
Steelcase Inc. (SCS) shares fell 6.8% to $14.58 on light volume after the office-furniture maker reported second-quarter results.
McDonald's Corp. (MCD) shares were unchanged $98.70 after hours on light volume after the fast-food giant raised its dividend 5% to 81 cents a share.
