Conference to Feature Keynote Address by Sharon Greenberger, Senior Vice President, Facilities Development & Engineering, New York Presbyterian Hospital

NEW YORKFebruary 21, 2013 – Healthcare construction is one of the largest nonresidential sectors of construction, and is expected to make a modest rebound in 2013 after 2012's downturn.  To further investigate the sector's trends, developments and management challenges from both regional and national levels, McGraw-Hill Construction's ENR New York(http://newyork.construction.com/) presents its fourth annual event, "THE PULSE: A Closer Look at the National Healthcare Construction Boom."  The conference will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 from 7:30-11:25 a.m. at The McGraw-Hill Companies headquarters, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, in Manhattan.

The conference will explore the issues currently affecting the national and regional healthcare construction market, such as new healthcare policies, medical innovations, an aging U.S. population, new technologies, increased single-bed-room demand and increased healthcare consumerism.  Panelists from all levels of healthcare industry construction and innovation will discuss the effects of these trends and the uncertainty that comes with financial concerns and governmental policy changes.  Speakers will examine new opportunities for contractors and subcontractors, as well as design and engineering firms, and will analyze the effect of shifting medical policies and practices on the construction industry.

The event features a keynote address by Sharon Greenberger, Senior Vice President, Facilities Development & Engineering, New York Presbyterian Hospital. Additional scheduled speakers include representatives from AKF Group, Array Architects, Continuum Health Partners, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, Gilbane Building, Harlem Hospital Center, Hunter Roberts Construction Group, Lend Lease (US) Construction LMB, Inc., McKissack & McKissack, Morgan Construction Enterprises, Inc., New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, New York Presbyterian Hospital, North Shore-LIJ Health System, Structure Tone, Tishman Construction Company, and Turner Construction Company, Zetlin & De Chiara, LLP.
