2013/2/13 - Selective Insurance Group Announces Officer Appointments

Brian C. Sarisky(Sparta, NJ) to senior vice president, Chief Underwriting Officer, Commercial Lines.  Prior to that, he served as senior vice president, Commercial Lines Underwriting and Product Development. Mr. Sarisky joined Selective in 1991 as a corporate trainee and has held a variety of regional and corporate positions throughout the organization. Mr. Sarisky earned his B.A. in Business Management from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA and received his M.B.A. from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. He holds designations as both a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and a Certified Insurance Counselor.

Lisa M. Evans (New Britain, CT) to vice president, IT Production and Maintenance. Prior to that, she served as assistant vice president, IT Commercial Lines.  Ms. Evans joined Selective in 2002 as an IT specialist.  Previously, she was an application manager at Travelers.  Ms. Evans holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C and holds the Project Management Professional designation.

Anthony S. Miller(Muncie, IN) to vice president, Field Operations Manager for Selective's Heartland Region.  Mr. Miller joined Selective in 2003 as an agency management specialist.  Prior to that, he was a marketing specialist for Indiana Insurance Company.  Mr. Miller received a B.S. in Finance and Insurance from Ball State University – College of Business in Muncie, IN and an M.B.A from Anderson University in Anderson, IN and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.

Shelly J. Gallagher (Newton, NJ) to assistant vice president, Personal Lines Auto Product Manager. Prior to that, she served as senior personal lines operations analyst. Ms. Gallagher joined Selective in 2002 as an associate financial analyst.  Ms. Gallagher earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC.

Robert L. Mitchell, III(Branchville, NJ) to assistant vice president, Assistant Controller.  Prior to that he served as accounting manager, expense reporting.  Mr. Mitchell joined Selective in 2003 as a staff accountant.  Prior to that, he was a senior auditor with Ernst & Young, LLP.  Mr. Mitchell received a B.S. in Accounting from Messiah College in Grantham, PA and is a Certified Public Accountant.

William P. VanVeldhuisen(Washington, NJ) to assistant vice president, Self-Insured Group.  Prior to that, he was the claims manager for the Self-Insured Group.  Mr. VanVeldhuisen joined Selective in 2000 and has held a variety of corporate claims positions.  Mr. VanVeldhuisen received a B.S. in Business Management/Marketing from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ and holds the Associate in Claims designation.
