2013/3/8 - Verizon Wireless Recognized As The Network Quality Leader In Mid-Atlantic In Latest J.D. Power And Associates Study

WHAT: 
Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the Mid-Atlantic Region, including central and eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, which comprises Verizon Wireless' Philadelphia Tri-State Region, in the J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study(SM), Volume 1, issued Thursday. This is the 17^th consecutive reporting period that Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Philadelphia Tri-State region.                                        

The J.D. Power and Associates study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers. More than 27,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates between July and December 2012 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless performed above the regional average in all six regions and ranked highest among national wireless companies in five regions, including the Philadelphia Tri-State Region.

In 2012, Verizon Wireless completed $186 million in wireless network enhancements across the Philadelphia Tri-State Region, increasing the company's regional network investment to $1.8 billion since its inception in 2000. The rapid rollout of 4G LTE, which launched in the Philadelphia region in December 2010, now covers 94% of the region's population and will continue to grow in 2013 with 4G LTE technology scheduled to cover the company's entire nationwide footprint by the middle of the year.
