(MarketNewsVideo.com) -- Yesterday, Pan American Silver (PAAS) declare the company's first ever dividend to shareholders. The company will begin paying a semi-annual cash dividend in the amount of 2.5 cents per share.

On the news, shares of Pan American Silver were showing strong gains, up almost four percent so far today.

In other dividend news, General Electric (GE) maintained its quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share. ConocoPhillips (COP) maintained its quarterly dividend of 50 cents per share. Baxter International (BAX) maintained its quarterly dividend of 29 cents per share. And Anadarko Petroleum (APC) maintained its quarterly dividend of 9 cents per share.
