President Trump has said he'll make a decision before the end of the month.

President Donald Trump has indicated that he's getting close to picking the next Federal Reserve chief, telling reporters he's had four interviews and expects to make a decision before the end of the month.

Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen's term ends in February. She's still on the list of top front-runners.

Unnamed White House officials told the Wall Street Journal that Trump interviewed former Fed governor Kevin Warsh for the job, along with current Fed governor Jerome Powell.

Analysts think that the other two meetings Trump mentioned were with Yellen and his top economic adviser Gary Cohn, but others says that these two were already vetted and the president actually indicated that two more candidates were also on his radar.

So who are the other wildcard contenders out there?

Stanford University economist John Taylor may be one, along with John Allison, the former CEO of BB&T Bank. Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari has an outside chance, and former Fed governor Lawrence Lindsey has also come up.
