US Market Report for Powered Morcellators 2017 - Research and Markets

The "US Market Report for Powered Morcellators 2017 - MedCore" report has been added to Research and Markets' offering.

Laparoscopic morcellators are used during laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH) and laparoscopic myomectomy (LM). Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) and laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) are less frequently performed due to disadvantages such as increased blood loss, slower recovery and post-surgery complications. LSH involves the removal of the uterus, while TLH involves the removal of both the uterus and the cervix.

Physicians recommend LSH or TLH based on the patient's degree of disease progression. The majority of hysterectomies are performed in order to remove a uterus containing fibroids, benign growths in the uterus that can cause pain, bleeding, and a variety of other symptoms. Growth in the laparoscopic morcellator market is more associated with rates of LSH than it is associated with rates of TLH.
