Cintas shares rise after company beats Wall Street's views
Shares of Cintas Corp. (CTAS) rose more than 3% late Tuesday after the company reported fiscal first-quarter earnings and sales above Wall Street predictions. Cintas said it earned $217 million, or $1.96 a share, in the quarter, compared with $138 million, or $1.26 a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue reached $1.61 billion, an increase of 27.2% over last year's first quarter, the company said. Analysts polled by FactSet expected GAAP earnings of $1.23 a share on sales of $1.57 billion. Shares ended the regular trading session 0.6% lower.
