Exchange Rate

The price of one country's currency expressed in another currency.

Many factors affect the generally fluctuating price of a currency. Economic supply and demand, interest rates and inflation are just three examples of the myriad influences on the price.

An exchange rate of 0.80 US/C$ means that it takes 80 cents in US currency to purchase one Canadian dollar.
